In 2019, the first prototype of the Sudoku generator was created, which is still the basis for all puzzles that can be played in the app. In addition, the first designs were created for the iOS app, which is being developed in the Swift programming language.

In this, the Sudoku generator uses the dancing links algorithm to ensure that each Sudoku has only one solution. In addition, various other algorithms are used, for example, to create a unique playing area for each Chaos Sudoku.

With version 1.1 One Sudoku got support for leaderboards, user profiles and achievements. The version therefore had the internal project name LAP. This version was released in April 2020.

The latest version of One Sudoku was released in March 2023.

In this version, the internal structure of the app was completely revised. Among other things, this allows the use of individual design files for each game field. In addition, the complete user interface has been reworked. Note input has been improved and there is support for regular special events, which can include symbols instead of numbers.

Also, version 3.0 introduced Kropki Sudoku and Kendoku as new variants.
