STAIR STEPS SUDOKU

Stair Steps Sudokus are a variation of the original Sudokus that follow the same rules as other Sudokus. The special thing about Stair Steps, however, is that the individual boxes have the shape of a staircase.

This special arrangement results in new and unexpected overlaps of cells and boxes during the solution.

Stair-shaped Box

Stair Sudoku owes its name to the shape of the boxes. As in classic Sudokus, the boxes in the stair variant also have nine cells. However, these are shifted by one field per line. This creates a staircase pattern.

Rules

To solve a Sudoku puzzle, the basic rules of Sudoku are applied. These stipulate that in a 9x9 Sudoku, each number from 1 to 9 can only appear once in each column, each row and each box. If a number has already been revealed or is given, it is excluded from all other cells in this row, column or box.

Despite their special shape, this rule also applies to the boxes in Staircase Sudoku.
